transcendence

once a slugcat, this creature has unwillingly transcended its place in the ecosystem, now forced to live out the rest of its life as a component in a half defunct superstructure.

//

the main idea behind this was to draw something "edgy". i came up with a silly little critter that didn't quite match the vibe i was going for. thankfully, with the help of some friends, i came up with the idea to make it into like, a replacement iterator puppet, since it already kinda looked like a slugcat. basically the idea is that one day it walked into a collapsed iterator structure's puppet chamber, where it was "accepted" as a replacement for the broken puppet, kinda like wheatley portal 2 style, and now it's forced to run the superstructure in the puppet's place. its mind constantly overflowing with information that it cannot hope to process, yet there's nothing it can do but try. scary! also maybe a little inspired by what it's like for me to live with all these mental illnesses

a small pale creature with sharp pointy ears and a large tail, wearing a long droopy orange cloak covering most of its body, seen in an iterator chamber from rain world, which is a large cubical chamber with its walls covered in tiles. the slugcat is attached to a mechanical arm much larger than it via its spine, many loose wires coming out of its back, connected by a larger wire at the bottom of the image. the slugcat looks very mentally unstable, staring at the viewer, it's clearly going through a lot. in front of it float several white neuron flies, while behind it is an iterator halo, a circle with many spokes. it has the mark of communication, which is represented as a white square above its head.
