hi! i'm pebble

i'm a disabled nonbinary agender transfem therian (words!) from baltimore MD. i'm 24 and use it/she pronouns

i draw sometimes

online i'm mostly known as a furry artist. i don't focus on drawing anything specific, i just draw whatever i currently feel like. i don't take commissions or do trades anymore, i find it to be more stress than it's worth. i've been actively drawing since 2017. lately i’ve been finding it really hard to find motivation, so i haven’t been drawing as much as i’d like. but i still try!!

i’m a computer nerd

in my spare time i like to mess with computers - i like toying with hardware, trying different operating systems, coding things and stuff like that. for example, this website is hosted entirely on an old computer i have at home that i turned into a linux server! i also made a discord bot. i also work as a sysadmin when i'm not currently laid off, it’s not the most exciting job but it’s something i’m good at.

i have a few special interests!

i don’t talk about these very often because i worry i’ll come off as annoying, but i’ll be happy to talk your ears off about any of these if you’re interested:

  • trains
  • infrastructure, especially power infrastructure: transmission towers, substations, wind turbines, radio towers, all that kinda stuff
  • half life 2 and source games in general
  • rain world
  • computers
  • space & space exploration
  • sound design
  • making lists,,

some random fun facts about me:

  • i'm disabled! it took me forever to admit this to myself as i was raised to view disability as a bad thing, but i’ve since gotten over that. my disabilities include neurodivergence, PTSD, hEDS, BIID and a bunch of other stuff.
  • i grew up in europe! i was born in slovakia and later moved to the czech republic where i lived for most of my life. i later moved to the US where i now live with my big fat dog husband

stamps!

games that are special to me

i like to keep a list of games that are special to me for one reason or another :3 here's a list of them along with very brief descriptions:

favorites

  • rain world - be a creature and explore abandoned industrial remnants of a lost civilization, comes with the best worldbuilding i’ve seen in a game
  • 1000xRESIST - a game about generational trauma and history repeating itself. the best narrative game i've ever played.
  • cobalt core - card game but the characters are SO LOVABLE I WOULD DIE FOR RIGGS (also one of the best OSTs ever, T+39 is my fave song by far)
  • tunic - wonderful worldbuilding, some of the best sound design i’ve seen in a game, puzzle solving that will have you writing down notes and coming up with theories

very special to me

  • portal 1 & 2 - i feel like everyone knows these! portal was one of my earliest hyperfixations
  • half life 2 - i somehow played this after portal, been obsessed with it since. i don’t care much for the first one surprisingly enough
  • oneshot - v meta game that has you going through your computer files to solve puzzles, the main character is SO CUTE
  • disco elysium - one of a kind, easily one of the best games ever made, i would die for kim kitsuragi
  • inscryption - card game except it keeps surprising you with crazy twists and really cool lore, i love p03 so much
  • cocoon - puzzle game with twists and out of the box thinking that had me going WHAT YOU CAN DO THAT all the time
  • far: lone sails; changing tides - vehicular exploration games, focus on satisfying big machinery, really scratches my train autism itch
  • in other waters - play as a swimsuit OS while exploring an alien planet’s ocean, really good narrative, love the UI design
  • citizen sleeper - you’re a robot on a space station, your body comes with planned obsolescence, try to survive while escaping from the corp that made you, really good writing
  • the beginner's guide - emotional meta narrative about the process of creating art

really enjoyed

  • control - scp but as an AAA game, really wonderfully written and designed
  • dredge - cosmic horror fishing, amazing vibes, chill gameplay
  • chicory: a colorful tale - wonderful game about dealing with depression as an artist
  • toem - super chill game where u just take pictures of things, it’s so sweet
  • titanfall 2 - really good movement shooter!! loved to play the multiplayer when it was still active
  • spiritfarer - guide many wonderful characters to their final resting place as you learn more about them and their lives. really chill gameplay, made me cry.
  • observation - kinda like 2001 a space odyssey except you play as HAL (not literally) and there's more cosmic horror
  • night in the woods - this one's really well known i think. a cat college dropout in her early 20s returning to her small hometown and weird things happen
  • sayonara wild hearts - it's like a playable visualizer to an album, it flows so wonderfully. it's only like an hour long but a wonderful experience.
  • inside - dark body horror sidescroller, kinda like limbo 2 (by the same devs too)
  • stray - cat game. extremely overrated but i really enjoyed it for what it was, a cute little walking simulator with a nice world. should NOT have won best indie game over tunic.
